Beauty and Humanitarianism: Unveiled

Social media is an essential tool in promoting organizations that, in other circumstances, might remain hidden or obscured.

In this #tbt post for the Huffington Post “Wrapped in Solidarity,” I am proud to highlight the good works of Heshima Kenya, an organization that protects and empowers refugee youth in Nairobi, Kenya. Heshima Kenya’s Maisha Collective, which economically empowers refugees by teaching them how to make unique, hand-dyed scarves and textiles is a wonderful program that helps refugee girls heal from their past, change their present, and envision their future.
